Syrian rebels say Syria is now free from Assad. Earlier, two Syrian military officials told Reuters that Assad left Damascus by plane. However, nothing is known for sure about where exactly he went.
According to Flightradar website, a Syrian plane took off from Damascus airport. The plane then headed towards the Syrian coast. But suddenly the aircraft took a U-turn and flew in the opposite direction for a few minutes and disappeared from the map.
It was not immediately clear who was on the plane, Reuters reported.
